Mount Harriet

Mount Harriet is the highest peak in South Andaman Island and the second-highest peak in the whole of the Andaman Islands. Mount harriet is situated in Port Blair, the capital city of the Andaman Islands. Mount Harriet Forest National Park was initially a reserve forest which was later converted into a national park in 1979. This famous peak is named after Harriet Tytler, wife of Mr. Robert Christopher Tytler who was a British army officer and a photographer in the early 1860s.

Chidiya Tapu Biological Park

The Chidiya Tapu Biological Park (Bird Island Biological Park) came into existence in 2001 with the aim to conserve and study endemic and endangered species of animals found in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Since then the park has been a centre for biodiversity and conservation where one can catch a glimpse of the rich fauna of the islands. The plan for the park has been meticulously laid out to span over 20 years and three phases, of which only one phase is currently open to public.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island (Ross Island) was once an administrative headquarter for the Britishers from 1858 to 1941. This Island is located 2 kms east of Portblair.

The crescent shaped Beach is surrounded by husky coconut trees which lines the shores making it ideal for sunbathing, swimming and relaxing. Carbyn’s cove is best place to visit in Port Blair especially for honeymooners as the picturesque surroundings offered by the beach are best for pre wedding and post wedding photoshoots.

Ross and Smith

Not to be confused by Ross Island near Port Blair, Ross and Smith Islands also known as the “Twin Islands” hold their own among the many beaches around Andaman. What makes Ross and Smith islands truly beautiful and sets them apart from the rest of the islands is that, these two islands are joined by a natural sand bar! During high tide, the sand bar disappears leaving a trail of water between the two islands and during low tide the sand bar appears again making the islands look majestic! There is a Marine Sanctuary on the island which makes it an ideal place for spotting beautiful coral reefs and colourful species from the underwater.
